USA Rugby is reaching new heights as it looks to compete with the rest of the world in this exciting, intense sport. The team, nicknamed the Eagles, have reached 17th in the world rankings, its second highest position. The team ranked as high as 14th in 2007 after qualifying for that year’s Rugby World Cup. Though rugby is considered a club sport in the U.S., www.directtelevisionpackages.com, the national team is trying to change that image, scoring a television contract that allows viewers from across the country to see the national team in action as it plays the top squads. In fact, the U.S. is considering hosting a Rugby World Cup some time in the next two decades. The Eagles have had some success at this major international event, which is held every four years. Though the U.S. still has a long way to go to catch world rugby leaders New Zealand and Australia, the Eagles can point to some good results this past year, including two victories over Russia, one in the Churchill Cup. Led by coach Mike Tolkin, the U.S. will host friendlies throughout the summer of 2012 as part of mid-year tests. These matches should help propel the team forward in 2013.Related Article : Isaia Toeava to play rugby in Japan
